The best treatment is the one that is never needed in the first place. With regular preventive check-ups, we detect illnesses early – often before they cause your pet any discomfort. Only timely treatment leads to the best possible outcome. Routine examinations are especially worthwhile for older animals: we recommend a check-up every 6 to 12 months so that age-related problems such as cardiac, metabolic or orthopaedic conditions are noticed in good time.

When your pet should come in for a check-up

Dogs are considered seniors from around their ninth year of life, giant breeds even earlier. Cats reach this stage from the age of seven to nine. In cats, typical age-related conditions such as kidney insufficiency or an overactive thyroid often only become apparent once the animal is already clearly unwell. For this reason, please come for regular preventive examinations so that we can detect and treat conditions at an early stage.

The preventive examination in detail

During a preventive examination, we take ample time for your pet. Afterwards we discuss all findings with you in detail and, if necessary, draw up an individual treatment plan. A thorough preventive check-up includes:

  • General clinical examination
  • Orthopaedic examination (with X-ray if required)
  • Blood sampling and urine analysis
  • Weight check, as both over- and underweight can be a cause as well as a symptom of various illnesses
  • Individually tailored vaccinations
  • Advice on parasite prevention

Vaccinations – tailored, targeted protection

Through regular vaccinations we protect your pet from serious infectious diseases. We tailor the vaccination schedule individually to your pet’s age, lifestyle and needs – from the initial immunisation through to booster shots. We are happy to advise you on the vaccinations recommended and required for dogs and cats in Germany and to answer your questions about duration of protection and tolerability.

Parasite prevention

Protecting against fleas, ticks and worms is essential for your pet’s well-being. Parasites transmit not only troublesome but sometimes dangerous diseases. We are glad to advise you on suitable products and how to apply them correctly, tailored to your pet and its everyday life.

Please note

For some examinations your pet should have an empty stomach, or a morning urine sample is required. Please clarify this with us when booking your appointment so that we can obtain all the necessary findings straight away.
